When you choose Salty Dragon Expeditions for your Charleston adventure, know that it is our quest to see that you have a fun, safe and memorable day on the water. Whether it is fishing, touring or island hopping we will do our best to see that you have an unforgettable day on the historic waters of Charleston, South Carolina.
What should I bring?
Welcome aboard! To make the most of your boating experience, we recommend bringing only the essentials. These include your phone, a towel, hat, clothing that can protect you from the sun, sunscreen, food, and beverages (no glass). While we have a few water-tight areas on board, please be aware that your things might get wet. If you're concerned, it would be helpful to bring a zip-lock bag for items that cannot get wet. For beach trips, add some water shoes to protect your feet. We'll supply everything you need to fish including license, tackle, bait and gear.
Where do we meet?
Welcome to our boat pickup location at Shem Creek Park & Boardwalk public dock in Mt. Pleasant, SC. As you enter the lot, please park on the right and follow the boardwalk towards the end of the creek to the 2nd Gazebo. The Salty Dragon will be waiting for you at the dock below the gazebo. This location is conveniently located 10-15 minutes from Isle of Palms and 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. We look forward to seeing you soon!
What is your cancellation policy?
At Salty Dragon Expeditions, safety always comes first. We take inclement weather seriously and may need to cancel your charter on the same day of your trip. Your Captain will be in touch with you to inform you of any delay or cancellation. Please note that only the Captain can cancel the trip due to weather, and there will be no cancellation charge in this case and any deposits will be refunded to your account.

If you cancel 48 hours prior to your trip, no charge will be incurred. However, if you do not give 48 hours notice or are no-shows on the scheduled date, your card will be charged a $100 fee so please contact us at 843.608.9553 for cancellations.
Can I keep my catch?
Salty Dragon Expeditions is committed to the conservation of fish populations. That's why we practice catch and release on all of our fishing trips. By doing so, we can help ensure that future generations can enjoy the thrill of reeling in a big catch.
Can I change my trip itenerary ?
Capt. Rob is dedicated to providing a great experience for his crew and is always willing to work within the trip parameters to accommodate their requests.
Does the Salty Dragon have a restroom?
We understand that emergencies happen. That's why we have a small toilet on board for your convenience. If you need to make a detour to a location with a restroom, we're happy to accommodate your needs. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities.
Do I need to be prepared for sea sickness?
While most of our expeditions avoid the rocking of waves, there may be some periods while fishing at the jetties that could cause sea sickness if you are prone to it. We recommend taking a suitable sea sickness medication that works for you at least one day prior to the expedition.
